Carondelet's Custom Guitars and Basses

Since day one, Carondelet has crafted custom guitars and basses for Jeff's pickup R&D efforts and for clients' hands-on, ears-on pickup test drives. What began as killer demo guitars for the workshop and at trade and consumer guitar shows abroad, has evolved into players buying the actual demo axes, along with commissioning custom one-off instruments.

Since its specialty and priority are great pickups, Carondelet chooses not to build custom instruments from scratch. It instead enrolls the best guitar and bass component suppliers and collaborators on the planet. The team delivers not only expertise in their respective fields but incredible price point value compared to scratch builds. The approach ensures Carondelet can not only focus on making great pickups, but that their guitars are the best to be found without breaking players' wallets.

Carondelet has three domestic guitar and bass body supplers; one domestic (pictured above) and one Japan-based neck supplier; and approximately a half-dozen painters nationwide who are the best at their type of instrument finishing. Carondelet in-house does all fret work, neck prep and neck finishing, all pickups and electronics, instrument fabrication and final set-up.

Custom guitars and basses start at about $2,000 and delivery times typically range from about four to 12 months.
